Birth preparation – Boot Camp for new dads advising parents of 19 elements essential for the hospital

Greg Bishop founder of Boot Camp for New Dads, an orientation program to nonprofit for fathers to be in more than 260 hospitals, clinics, schools, fire stations and churches around North America and abroad, and author of two books on fatherhood, advised parents waiting prepare a list of items to bring to the hospital, and keep the bag from the hospital to check before leaving.
Below, Bishop shares the 19 "key points" that are listed in his latest book Crash Course for new fathers: Tools, lists and cheat sheets:

A file containing important documents, including insurance cards, forms pre-admission, birth plan (two or three copies), etc.

Baby Book (creches placed a strong impression your baby in the book).

A watch with second hand or digital display.

Change of clothing and pajamas for mom (and dad, if staying overnight)

New Dads know what to expect Boot Camp Workshops
Dads-to-be will be better equipped to face the challenges and opportunities of fatherhood after attending a Boot Camp "hands on" educational workshop. Men attending class when they are expecting their first baby, and are joined in studio by "war veterans" who had already participated and returned with their two four months, babies in tow. They are able to give dads-to-be a realistic idea of what to do and what to expect when their first baby comes. For many men present, it is their first time holding a baby.
