Author Charles Martin

What's some good secular fiction for a reader of novels Christians?
I read a lot of Christian fiction. My current favorite authors are Charles Martin, Christa Parrish, Beverly Lewis, Deeanne Gist, and Bodie Thoene. I would like to read good literature that is no longer simply the market for fiction inspired, but it is difficult to find quality, character-driven literature that is not full of this stuff that I do not want to put in my mind. It should not be squeaky clean or Victorian, but has anyone some suggestions for fiction is insightful and carries a positive message?
Westerns are good and relatively clean. Some, like Zane Gray wrote pretty romantic. Anything by Cormac McCarthy would be exciting and not too hot. I read these types of books just for those reasons.
