Planning an event is hard work and there are three things that can completely destroy even the best planned activity: location, food and entertainment. So how do you know if you book good or bad entertainment? How do you know what choices to make? What steps can you take to avoid disaster?
- Know your target event. If the aim of the event is to educate people so the show is not the key element of the event. You'd better use a mild of entertainment during the break to help participants to relax and unwind rather than everything that's going to be overwhelming. But if you organize a gala dinner business, then you may need to book a title that can really know
- Know your audience. The Participants of the event will also play a big role in your choice. Using an actor Blue would not be appropriate for a Day Family fun business, but a good selection of street artists, caricaturists and face painter is an excellent choice.
- Know the theme of your event. The theme of any event will determine the style of entertainment used. If you have a theme of Las Vegas some fun casino tables and an Elvis impersonator would be appropriate. However, if your theme is more subtle, like a black tie dinner that could be a simple matter of booking a band of operation to play two sets.
- Know your budget. Not always know how much of your budget has been set aside for music and entertainment. You can not start possibly research ideas of fun until you know how much you can spend in the first place.
- Know what is included in the price. There are often travel expenses added up to the artist a fee depends on the location of the event. You will also need clarify whether or not they require you to provide a PA & lights they will provide all their own equipment. You do not want to be remains with surprises so always remember to ask these questions.
- Their experience. Ask for testimonials and examination. Do not be afraid to ask them what types of events, they occurred and how long they did to. Another good question to ask is whether or not it is their full time job or just something they do on the side for a little fun.
My last piece of advice is to try to see that you book in person before committing to a reservation. As wonderful as the show rolls demo CD and they are not necessarily give you an honest picture of their performance. You need to see what they are like when before an audience. Can they work a crowd? Are they professionals? Do they dress appropriately? Try before you buy and make your homework. A little initial investment can save a lot of hassle further down the track and give you peace of mind.
